Principal’s Welcome
You are very welcome to Scoil Mhuire, Portroe. Our school is a rural, co-educational primary school situated near Nenagh in Co. Tipperary.
At Scoil Mhuire, we are fortunate to have a dedicated and committed team of talented teachers, SNAs and ancillary staff who work together to ensure that every child in our care has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Guided by our Catholic ethos, we strive to foster a warm, caring and Christian environment where relationships are built on mutual respect and where every child feels valued.
While we place a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy, we also recognise the importance of the Arts, sport and wider aspects of the curriculum. Music holds a special place in school life and our choir brings great joy to pupils, staff and the wider community at special events. Physical activity is equally valued, promoted and enjoyed by all. Our pupils take part in a wide variety of sporting activities including hurling, camogie, football and athletics, which contribute greatly to their wellbeing and development.
